FAQs

  • How many liters filter 1 stick?
1 stick is enough to filter 1 liter of running water. However, the water quality is not equal in each municipality. We advise you to check the water quality of your city, village via this link https ://www.quechoisir.org/carte-interactive-qualite-eau-n21241/. If the water is of poor quality, prefer 2 sticks/L of water. Some sticks can filter 500ml or up to 2L of water depending on their size.
  • My charcoal has broken, floating particles, can I use it?
Vegetable charcoal, due to its high porosity, is weakened and can break by dropping a few particles. This phenomenon is completely normal for a natural product. Although broken, it will be all the more effective because its contact surface with water will become more extensive. The charcoal particles will help with digestion (just like powdered activated charcoal)!
  • How long can I leave the vegetable and/or activated charcoal in the water?
You can completely leave it immersed in your container for 1 month and add water as needed (remember to let the stick act between 4 and 8 hours each time you fill it with water). After 1 month of continuous use, boil again for 10 minutes. then dry before placing it back in your decanter.
  • My coal is floating!
The vegetable charcoal is extremely porous because emptied of any substance accumulated during its life of wood. The activation phase thus makes it very light and it floats for the first few days of use to finally sink to the bottom of the container when its pores are full of water.
  • What toxic substances are adsorbed by vegetable charcoal? Studies, evidence?
We have had the toxic adsorption capacities of the French activated carbon stick evaluated by an independent laboratory.Pre-water analysis Water analysis after
  • Why boil the vegetable charcoal stick?
Charcoal has the highest adsorption capacity of any known natural or synthetic material. It has the power to attract and retain toxic particles present in the air and in the water. It is therefore important (before use and every 1-2 months) to sterilize it by boiling it in order to free its pores of toxins.
