ACTIVE VEGETABLE CHARCOAL

What is Activated Charcoal?

Activated vegetable carbon, also known as vegetable activated carbon, is a type of carbon that is processed to have a large surface area and high porosity. It is derived from plant materials such as coconut, wood or coffee, and is used in many fields for its purification and filtration properties.

Vegetable charcoal is made from carbon-rich raw materials like wood, bamboo, coconut, etc. The manufacturing process involves one or two steps: carbonization and activation.

The most important step in the production of vegetable charcoal is carbonization, where the raw materials are heated in the absence of air to produce charcoal. During this stage, the wood is heated to temperatures of up to 1000 degrees Celsius and for several days to remove impurities and volatile compounds, leaving a carbon-rich material.

Then, to produce a so-called "activated" charcoal, the vegetable charcoal produced is activated by the addition of oxidizing gases such as carbon dioxide, water vapor or air, which opens the pores of the charcoal and increases its contact surface. This step is called activation, and it can be done either physically or chemically.

Benefits of vegetable charcoal

Activated charcoal has many benefits, including water purification, detoxification, digestion, and beauty. Here are some of its most common benefits.

Water purification

Detoxification

Digestion

Beauty

Activated carbon helps purify and filter running water by removing contaminants such as chemicals, heavy metals and particles. It is commonly used in water filters to provide clean, best tasting water. Most often, the activated or vegetable carbon stick and/or the carbon granules are then used.

Activated Charcoal is used to detoxify the body by removing toxins and harmful chemicals. It can be taken in capsule or powder form to help cleanse the digestive system and reduce hangover symptoms.

Charcoal is also used to help with digestive issues such as gas, bloating, and abdominal pain. It can help absorb gases and toxins in the digestive system for easier and more efficient digestion. It is then taken in the form of charcoal powder.

Activated charcoal is used in beauty products to deeply cleanse the skin and remove impurities and toxins. It is often used in face masks, soaps and toothpastes to help remove stains and whiten teeth.

The different types of coal?

There are many coals. They are differentiated by their galenic forms, their wood species and their origins.
